First Holy Communion


First Holy Communion at Saint Teresa of Avila

“Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood you will not have eternal life” (Jn 6:53). 


All the sacraments lead to the Most Blessed Sacrament, that is, Holy Communion, by which one is completely united with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, body, blood, soul and divinity.  This total union with Christ is a foretaste of heaven, strengthening us to live a truly Christian live and aiding us in our transformation into the “image and likeness of God” (Gen 1:27). 


Children normally attend 2 years of preparation receive their First Holy Communion at 7 or 8 years old. 


Adults who have not yet received their first Holy Communion can attend adult sacraments classes.
